Job Details
Nazarbayev University School of Medicine, established in 2014, in the dynamic capital of Astana, Kazakhstan, is seeking research-active clinical faculty with expertise in general surgery, cardiology, internal medicine and oncology.
Nazarbayev University School of Medicine (NUSOM) is being developed in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and offers a US-style 4-year MD program taught in English. The school will graduate its first class in 2019. NUSOM’s mission is to educate a new generation of clinically skilled and research-focused physicians prepared for leadership positions in research, education, and clinical care to improve the health of individuals in Kazakhstan, Central Asia, and around the world. A highly competitive salary, benefits package with free housing (based on rank and family size), relocation allowance, home leave travel (twice per year), health care coverage, educational allowance for dependent children, and research start-up funds are available.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have an MD, or MD/PhD, or equivalent graduate/professional degree, relevant clinical specialty certification, and demonstrated professional teaching and research experience commensurate with appointment rank, Candidates should have translational and/or clinical research interests that complement NUSOM’s and Nazarbayev University’s research priorities Excellent communication skills and English fluency are required.
