Faculty Opportunity for an Infectious Diseases Specialist

Baystate Health, a Truven® Award–winning health care system and home of the University of Massachusetts Medical School-Baystate, is searching for a full-time Infectious Diseases Faculty-Physician to join our Division of Infectious Diseases in western Massachusetts.

The 10 faculty members in the division are involved in teaching, clinical service, and research at Baystate Medical Center (a 716-bed tertiary-care teaching hospital) and three smaller regional hospitals. The primary responsibilities will include attending the inpatient consultation service and the ID clinic, and the education of ID fellows, residents, and medical students.

Depending on the interests and experience of the candidate, there will be excellent opportunities for participation and potential leadership in the following:

•    Antimicrobial stewardship program, hospital epidemiology, Ryan White–funded HIV clinic, multidisciplinary hepatitis C clinic, and travel medicine
•    Clinical research unit with clinical trials in HIV, hepatitis C, and influenza

The candidate should be BC/BE in infectious diseases and eligible for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level at UMass Medical School.

Baystate Health is Massachusetts’ third-largest health care system, but it consistently ranks among the nation’s top hospitals and health care organizations. As a not-for-profit, mission-driven, integrated health system, Baystate Health serves a population of more than 750,000 people in communities across western Massachusetts.

This is your opportunity to join an organization focused on the future of medicine — one whose physicians and advanced practitioners partner with their patients to ensure a higher state of care and better outcomes. At Baystate Health, you’ll experience a deeper sense of compassion, greater breadth of diversity, and a never-ending desire to raise the standard of medical excellence — regionally and nationally.
