Job Details

Current staffing includes 39 physician hours and 12 mid-level hours per day for 27,000 visits.  We have great E.D. nurses.  We have a hybrid of eight and twelve hour shifts and most of the group seems to be liking shifts in the eight to ten hour range so we continue to experiment. We are always open to new ideas. We have been actively recruiting E.M. residency-trained physicians as we have grown our annual volume to nearly 27,000 visits. We also just finished renovating to 23 beds. We recently improved our compensation package and clinical work hours requirement, dramatically improving the pay and lessening the work burden to 1472 hours per year and we can be flexible.

The Bangor and Penobscot Bay area offers a variety of cultural attractions, including the flagship campus of the University of Maine. We are home to one of the largest collections of natural and organic food producers in the world. The region offers a pleasant pace of life, low crime, friendly people, excellent educational opportunities, great public schools and affordable housing. The Bangor area is widely regarded as a wonderful place to raise a family.

This area is a four-season sports, recreation and tourist destination, with nearby Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor and the many other scenic harbors and towns up and down the Penobscot River and Bay. Sugarloaf USA, one of the premier outdoor, golf and ski resorts in the east, is just two hours away by car.  Interstate 95 is adjacent to the city and we are served by Bangor International Airport, with connecting flights to any destination.
