Director of the Hypertension Center of Excellence

Applicants are sought for the position of Director of the Hypertension Center of Excellence in the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. This center is recognized by the American Society of Hypertension as one of 15 centers of Hypertension Excellence in the United States and is responsible for patient care, research and education. Competitive applicants should be board certified in Internal Medicine, have training and experience in the care of Hypertension, and have a record of clinical and translational research. The Director will be expected to interact and collaborate with other investigators studying hypertension and related diseases and to oversee clinical activities of the center.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications include an MD or MD/PhD degree, evidence of extramural funding or potential to obtain such funding, independent high-impact publications, scholarly and service activities commensurate with rank, and research accomplishments in relevant area of clinically focused or translational research. The applicant should also be board certified in Internal Medicine, have training and experience in the care of Hypertension, and have a record of clinical and translational research. The Director will be expected to interact and collaborate with other investigators studying hypertension and related diseases and to oversee clinical activities of the center.
