East Meadow, Long Island, NY. With a strong commitment to raising the bar for healthcare in our community, Nassau University Medical Center is a Level I Trauma Center and a 530-bed teaching hospital affiliated with Northwell Health and Stony Brook University. NUMC maintains a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, a Level 3 NICU and a Newborn Nursery.

We currently have an exceptional opportunity for a Chairperson of Pediatrics to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of clinical and administrative experience and must be an MD/DO and Board Certified in General Pediatrics.

The Chairperson of Pediatrics will be responsible for clinical supervision and leadership of clinical providers assigned to Pediatrics as well as clinical responsibilities for a patient panel. NUMC has an active Residency Program and the Chairperson of Pediatrics will be responsible for oversight of this program. Under the administrative direction of the Medical Director, the Chairperson is responsible for NUMC compliance with all clinical medical policies, directives, rules, regulations and clinical performance standards of the state, the federal government, hospital bylaws and accrediting bodies, and also required to be a clinical leader and provider with experience to assess clinical competence and current best practices. Responsible for care protocols and for adequacy of documentation for the patients of NUMC. Determines the staff and other resources necessary and makes appropriate and necessary adjustments within the department. Establishes and approves work schedules and determines individual and group work assignments within the department. Collaborates with other department chiefs or supervisors to determine and coordinate working relationships. Advises the Medical Director on problems or issues existing within the department or between departments and recommends appropriate corrective action.

Graduate of an approved Medical or Osteopathic School, Residency program completion in Pediatrics, Current New York State License, Board Certified.
