NEUROLOGY DEPARTMENT CHAIR


University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) is seeking a distinguished neurologist as the next Chair of the Department of Neurology & Neurotherapeutics. UTSW is a premier academic institution with a proud history of supporting research that has changed the world, counting among its faculty 6 Nobel laureates, 23 members of the National Academy of Sciences, 19 members of the National Academy of Medicine, and 14 Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigators. The university is now well into a $1B campaign to create the Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute, which will transform basic and clinical research on disorders of the central nervous system. The Department of Neurology & Neurotherapeutics will play a critical role in this effort, and substantial resources have been committed to enable the growth of its research and clinical efforts.


We seek a M.D. candidate with outstanding experience who is prepared to use substantial resources to build a department of international renown. At UT Southwestern the neurological subspecialties are well established, as is the residency program, and management of the clinical enterprise. The position thus will enable a creative and dynamic leader to focus on the growth of substantive clinical and translational research programs.
